A Round Pair

Dr Kumarendra Mallick

You played the usual trick,
Under the pretest of beauty
You gave men and women
Almond and fish-shaped eyes
With a narrow corner
To hold smiles and tear
Love and anger
Joys and fear, And designed for self
A lovely round pair
With no beginning
no end, always so wide
no secret corners
emotions known to us to hide.

You have a pan-view,
you see the whole and real
And not like us just a few,
More often virtual and untrue.

In your wheel of eyes,
pray, make us spokes of time
To forget "I, my and mine",
To echo your name with each stride
To measure that lie beyond all measures,
beyond the peripheries of the three worlds
The Moon, the Sun, the dawns and dusks
To step unto the sands and grass
Of a terrain- vast and ever new,
On the other side of human imagination,
Where peace and virtue appear as dew.

Let yourself be open and life will be easier. A spoon of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable. A spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed.
